Welcome to Piglets Day Nursery.

Established in 1998, Piglets is set in the beautiful River Hamble country park, with peaceful surroundings and lots of outdoor space.  Piglet’s is a family run business owned by Julie and Aubrey Sims, catering for children ranging from 3 months to 5 years.

Julie and Aubrey have four children and eleven grandchildren and have been foster carers for over twenty years. Aubrey & Julie have a huge amount of knowledge about children and their behaviour.

Here at Piglets, we have created a homely and stimulating environment for all children. The nursery is divided in to 3 base rooms. We have a baby room (3 months – 2 years), a Tigger room (2 – 3 years) and a Pre-school room (3 years until school age). All of our inside areas are open plan, light, spacious and fully air conditioned. Our outside areas are fully secure with suitable flooring for all of the children. We also have a large grassed area positioned at the back of the setting, giving the children plenty of space to move freely and explore the natural surroundings. We aim to take the children outside for some fresh air in all weathers. We also aim to take the children on regular walks throughout the local country park and we talk about our surroundings and what we can see and hear. We provide quality care which supports a child’s emotional, physical, moral, social and spiritual development and well being.

At Piglets, we have created a relaxing environment for children to enjoy, learn and achieve. We work closely in partnership with parents as they know their children best and we feel that this approach enables them to reach their full potential whilst at the nursery. We ensure to encourage their independence and confidence ready to go to school when the time comes! We strongly value the feedback and suggestions from our parents to ensure we are constantly improving and providing best possible practice.

All of our staff are friendly, enthusiastic and qualified to cater for all your children’s needs. All staff members either hold or are working towards a minimum of a Level 3 equivalent childcare qualification.

We are rated GOOD with Ofsted and strive to constantly improve to give the children the best care and opportunities possible.
