General information and fees

Settling in routines:

At Piglets we plan with parents as to when visits are to take place, this is usually when the child is at their happiest for example when they have had their morning sleep. We arrange times to suit each individual with small two hour visits, then extending them dependant on each and every child.  Parents are welcome to stay if they wish, settling in plans are put into place and staff discuss routines and child’s needs with parents. A key person and buddy is put into place, they help the child to become familiar with the setting and to feel confident, safe within the environment and to develop a genuine bond with children to enable a settled close relationship. A key person/buddy has special responsibilities for working with a small number of children, giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for, and building relationships with their parents. The key person/buddy would discuss with parents to make sure that they have all relevant information for their child.

Health and well being:

At Piglets our menu has been devised over a three week rota and rotates down a day each week so all children can enjoy the variety of food that we offer.

(Copy of menu will be added shortly)

Children’s health is an integral part of their emotional, environmental and spiritual well-being. We cater for children that have allergies, dietary, and religious requirements. We endeavour to use the closest ingredients so that every child can have the same meals as their peers. At Piglets we offer a wide selection of home cooked foods that include fresh fruit and vegetables daily, ensuring that children have a healthy balanced diet whilst in our care.

Parents as partners:

Parents are children’s first and most enduring educators and when parents and practitioners work together in early year’s settings the results have a positive impact on children’s development and learning. At Piglets we welcome all families, and respect and value their views, with effective communication means there is a two way flow of information with knowledge and expertise between parents and practitioners. We hold regular parents evenings where parents can come and discuss their child’s progress.  Each and every child has their own learning journey which is sent home to parents to fill in, staff use and update these on a daily basis, this is then sent home to parents to fill in their views on their child’s progress.

We also have stay and play sessions, where parents can come into nursery for a day and see what their children get up to.
